It takes a little time to carve into fruit and veges - but how nice does it look? Honestly - kids ( and adults will eat things because they LOOK great. Remember mums little trick of scoring into the cucumber and then slicing it - making those cool little run lines on the rings. We all ate them because ti looked much nicer than just broing old sliced cucumber.
The flower is made from a butternut pumkin - soft enough and springy enough to carve - and still sweet and crunchy to eat raw. You need to soak it in ice cold water for a while to make it spring out.
